In case you are wondering, that is not me in the logo. That is a poor fool (hey, Pete!) that got caught sleeping in class and fell victim to Mappa and me, although Big Daddy Redwood (self-proclaimed, of course) would say he had a hand in it (figuratively, can never be to careful around Mappa) too. Methinks not.

The follow is for those who do more than just chat online.
Guess what? ICQ sucks(as far as I know; I only used it for 5 minutes)! Want to know why? Then read on: (don't mind the grammar or spelling or lack of paragraphs, I was half asleep when I wrote it)
Their way of doing it is correct but their method is way off. For one thing, an open stream of blank data is absolutely horrible. You could, to a lesser affect, have the thing check for buddies at intervals instead streaming. Or you can do manual requests. You could also(but I don't recommend it) set up server-like software on the machines themselves to open up a stream upon actual data reception(this is not advisable, though, because this then becomes an extreme security breach).
With my idea of doing this, chatters won't like it, but everyone else will. What you do is when your computer starts and you log in with your profile, you send a message(prolly less than 1k) to the server that you are logged on. Now anyone else with your code can see if you are logged on. This is basically the same as ICQ except instead of ICQ sending you a stream of worthless garbage(ie: UPDATE: We have nothing new to tell you(SIZE: 10k), UPDATE: We still have nothing new to tell you(SIZE: 12k)) with my method you can engage a manual database query thus severely decreasing the bandwidth use. Chatters will hate this because they might think they will miss someone. Tough. I'd rather have this small inconvenience than the enormously large inconvenience of half my bandwidth being used. You could even set your computer to do automatic queries every 5 minutes or so. If someone you want is missed, that means they wear using their computer for less than 5 minutes or so. Obviously they didn't have time to chat with you anyway.
Final Verdict: ICQ is a waste of HD space(what did you say? 11Mb? that's absolutely insane!), waster of bandwidth, waste of time(Hello? Trying to sell me things through ICQ? What a turn off right there!(although the new system would still have such ads, because people like to make money, but at least it won't expend your bandwidth as much). If you actually read this whole thing, than you prolly are:
a. bored
b. interested
c. waiting for me to say something funny
d. all of the above
Well, I hope it's not c., and if that's the case, d., because I have nothing funny to say about this serious matter.
I shall call my program, if I ever write it, Mini-ICQOJWAC(I Seek You Of Justice With A Cape) Pronounced [I-See-Que-Oh-Jay-Wack]
Do you think it sucks too, or do you think I'm full of it? Vote now!

It turns out someone is writing a Chrono Trigger novel at Wayne's Chrono Trigger Web Site -- Home of the CT Novel. Check it out. It looks to be pretty good.

Well, I just relized something. All my updates had a grammar error in them. :( I neglected to put a comma after the day of the week. Blimey. Anyway, I updated the site again, now you can turn off that bloody menu frame and just use the menu on each page. The menu can be accessed with Alt+M just like a menu. I added more songs to the Battle Themes. Well, it's time to go listen to the rockin' Dragon Warrior battle theme again. :)
